Elizabeth graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Shortly after graduating, she began working at Wyman Center teaching outdoor education and leading team building. During the off season at Wyman in 2005, she began working as a flow teacher and in the after care program at The St. Michael School of Clayton. She fell in love with the style of teaching and environment immediately! At this point, Elizabeth decided to go back to school to earn a masters degree and teaching certification in Special Education at Fontbonne University, as well as her reading specialist certification. She became a classroom teacher at TSMSOC in 2007, teaching 4th grade. The following year, she became the 6th grade homeroom teacher. Starting in 2013, she became the Learning Consultant at TSMSOC where she is responsible for creating accommodation plans for students, interpreting testing results to incorporate into our curriculum, and working one-on-one and in small groups with select students throughout the school.
Elizabeth is married to Neal, and they have two children- Evelyn and Michael. Evelyn is currently in the Pre-K program, and Michael will be joining the TSMSOC family in the coming years. She enjoys reading and exercising. She loves the beach, especially swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand with her kiddos. She is passionate about education, especially in regards to how we are teaching to and interacting with our students at TSMSOC. She feels very strongly that each person’s unique learning style (both the students and our teachers) contributes to our exceptional learning environment.
